The objective of this project is to develop a computer model that simulates the process of laying the catenaries for overhead transmission lines. The current computational methods do not guarantee the verticality desirable in the chains of insulators when carrying out the cables cramping. A model has been developed based on the solution of the equations that govern the problem and modifying the boundary conditions in each of the steps of the cramping process in order to obtain the most accurate model.
